Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenkins Reid was heartbreaking at times, but I loved the bond between the 4 siblings this book is centered around. I loved the parts of the book that followed the siblings and their family history, but at some point, there were just too many extra characters and additional drama getting thrown into the mix to care about. Then the big event lasted way to long for my likely, it moved very slowly and I found myself wanting to skip parts to get back to the heart of the story. I connected the most with Nina, being the oldest and becoming the family matriarch before her time. I adored Jay, Hud, and Kit, I just wish the event and the 25% of the book it takes up was handled a different way. I was happy with the ending and the first 65% of the book so a solid 3.5 stars from me.
