Making Faces by Amy Harmon

Making Faces by Amy Harmon was a heartwarming read. I'm still a bit behind ony illustrations but I really enjoyed this book. The book follows the lives of a few 'friends' within the town....the ugly duckling book nerd and pastors daughter Fern. Her cousin and best friend, Bailey who was born with muscular dystrophy and is wheelchair bound. Her beautiful and perfect best friend Rita and the champion wrestler and hottest boy in town Ambrose.

We follow them through their late teens and early twenties with a few flashbacks of earlier days. This is a story of loss, tragedy and heartache but even more triumph, learning to love yourself despite yourself and allowing yourself to feel deserving of others love.

Even the minor characters were ones I felt drawn to. With the exception of one

...which you better believe I loved hating!

Plus this quote spoke to me as a girl who loves God and her romance novels... " Scripture comforts me, and romance novels give me hope.
